I did not know there was a difference. Learn something every day.
I bought new factory Ford parts to put the 460 into my 82. My Ford dealer said the engine frame mounts were the same part # from 83 - 91, on the F-250 and 350, 2x4 and 4x4 models, as were the engine mounting brackets and rubber mounts. Except for the accessory brackets ( which I used off my donor vehicle a 79 E-250 Van ), it was a bolt and go.
I compared mine with a 88 3/4 ton, factory 460, 4x4 and they look and set the same, except mine, for the acc, brackets and less vacuum hoses.

Think I am back to confused. Just poking around under the hood again the other day and discovered that the motor mount on the left side is slagging away. I have some serious heat under the hood, most of the wiring harness covers are melted. Thinking of going with the LandL conversion mounts for the 351W to 460 swap, seems to be what mine was but wow what a price tag. Kinda worried that the right mounts will screw up something else like the alignment to the transmission or move everything and cause the drive shaft to be too short. You all have any advice/info. Sometime in the next month I am going to replace the rear and front bearing seals figure that is a good time to install mounts.
Thanks

So you don't have factory Ford 460 frame mounts in your truck?
These are the brackets that fasten to the frame and the engine cradle.
I did not have any problems with any kind of engine alignment or drivetrain issues going with the factory parts in my swap.
You may achieve better alignment by going with factory pieces.

Yes I have factory mounts in my truck, installed about 1 year ago but the left side is melting away. And the alignment of my engine looks nothing like the one in the photos supplied by 82F100SWB. I was thinking that with the LandL s being made for the conversion they would better correct the situation. I plan to call Ford first. Looks like they weren't able to line up the factory mounts properly. I remember the shop saying something else was affecting the motor sitting correctly either the bellhousing or transmission. I'll probably need to bite the bullet and either get the bellhousing for hydraulic clutch for my tranny/460 or get the ZF I really want and can't afford. Was hoping to put that off another year, since getting legal for NH took all my $ for the year.

I guess I was confused a bit, I thought that where you said since it appeared that you had L&L mounts that you maybe were using your original 351W frame mounts and the L&L conversion 460 rubber motor mounts.
So your rubber engine mounts and mounting brackets look like the picture I sent you some time back?

Yes, I have a tendancy to make things confusing.
My truck originally had a 351W and had a 460 swapped into it.
I found the work order and the shop changed out the rubber mounts only.
The rubber mounts look like the pictures you sent me (2 bolt). I do not know if the thin metal plate is there or not can't see in there (the rubber mounts are melted). The rubber mounts do not look to be attached to the block as shown in your pictures.
I believe the frame mounts (stands) are from the 351W application. Do these bolt in or are they welded to the frame? Looks like they have a elongated slot cut with a torch (not factory) for the rubber mounts bolts.

The passenger side frame bracket is bolted on the cradle and the frame with a total of 4 bolts. The drivers side has two bolts at the frame and 4 rivets on the cradle. You can remove the rivets and then use hard 14mm bolts to run back through where the rivets were.
I can hook you up with Ford parts if you want the proper pieces. (Cheaper than what your local dealer will sell them to you for, more than likely)
The pictures I sent you is how the proper engine mounting is supposed to be. You have the metal bracket that bolts to the block, then the rubber mount fastens to it, then these sandwiched components set into the engine frame mounts.

Let me know how much for a complete set. Stands, metal plate, and ruber mounts for both sides. The link you posted for the frame mounts didn't work out for me. I probably won't get to this project for awhile but it will be good to have the info when I am ready.
The manifolds I got from Ifergusson were exactly what I needed to get the exhaust underway.
