5.4 engines
I have a 1999 F250 SD and it is need of a rebuild or replacement. What are the years of engines that can be used to replace this motor and what would need to be done to use a newer motor. Thanks for any help.

I would think that you could use any engine before 2005, but remember that 2000 and newer engines have PI heads that add 25 HP. I believe that these engines will need an updated PCM tune or a donor PCM.
