Every now and again my driver side power seat will not move either. This is what I found. After spending half an hour checking fuses, wires, motors and what not I said hey dipstick, see what the owners manual says about power seats. Sure enough deep within the seat section, it states that if the power seat doesnt't work, put the seat back section of the seat down to it's lowest position a couple of times. This somehow resets the body module for the driver seat. Weird but it has worked several times for me. I just have to remember to do this, before I go into full on trouble shooting mode again.

I just had this problem and I ended up finding a loose connector under the seat. Glad it was a cheap fix... the second one in the last year after I found a broken wire in a back door wiring bundle which happened to effect the electric window as if it was a motor. I also freely fixed my compass and "miles to empty" display with some (albeit poor) soldering skillz.
So my list:
So my list:
- Listen for sounds when you press a button
- Reset seat by folding/raising seat numerous times.
- Press the "1" or "2" seat memory buttons if you have them
- Check fuses
- Remove side panel carefully and look for bad wires, connectors, toys, snakes, money
- Check switch (pricey/aftermarket)
- Check motor (used motors available online, they rebuild them)
- Check control module(s)
- Remove seat and check gears, grounds, everything else
