Poke hole in red line???
#17
Since my installation of the 4" exhaust, the torque shot up and real acceleration is now further down the RPM band. I have had to retrain my right foot after a lifetime of stomping to get more go, now it's a balancing act to keep the go up and the R's down without the downshift. The boost still gets up there, but my new goal involves avoiding max.
My mild mods really push the testost-o-meter needle to the right. What a great engine.

In regards to the poke hole thought, that was used in early to mid 80's on turbo-charged SVO mustang, Turbo-coupes, etc to fool wastegate into opening later. Would raise boost from approx. 17lbs stock to approx. 21lbs. They also had a switch for regular fuel that lowered boost to approx. 15lbs. Later on someone came out with boost controller which did the same thing. I think I still have one somewhere.
PS. I also used hot needle to put the hole in my '84 SVO
