Chrome rear bumper

I've noticed and admired several stepside trucks ('80-'87 body) with a smooth, narrow rear bumper without the tag recess. The only bumper like this I'm finding is for the '48-56 Ford trucks, and I'm seeing the same bumper for 48-72 on ebay.

I'd love to buy one of these for my '82 stepside, but wondering if I would need to fabricate mounting brackets or does anyone make this bumper (or brackets) to fit the '80-87 without modification?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sid

I've not seen anything like that for the 7th gen trucks. One would have to measure carefully to make sure that those for the older trucks would fit, and then fab up your own mounting brackets. The closest I've seen to something like you had is the chrome bumpers like this one: LMC Truck Parts - Page 163
Of course, someone else may be able to source it for you. Good luck in your search.

I actually have one of those for sale right now with the mounting brackets, tail lights, light brackets, and license plate mount. All off of a '81.
Don't have a pic of the bumper right now, but can get one.

I just found a truck on this site with that bumper. User name "neversosure" Left him a comment on the pics. Maybe he'll share some info on it.

I have a diamond plate step bumper in pretty good shape at the moment, and it's fine until I can work out something with the one shown here,...unless someone wants to trade?..lol.

Thanks,
Sid

I'm not positive, but could the rear valance be different too? The one for the skinny bumper should have two cut-outs for the bumper brackets to pass.

Oh, message sent

After seeing the pics, I'm pretty sure that's it. Thanks, email sent

My '82 does have the two cut-outs for my step bump brackets. Should be the same for the skinny bumper brackets. I hope anyway.
