Front Hub Seal question

I was changing my stock shocks yesterday and noticed that a rubber gasket/seal on my front hub was loose, and no longer pressed into the hub. This was on the side facing the tire and had roughly a 3-4 inch diameter center and the rubber was just under 1/4 wide. I looked at the other side and it was the exact same. Anyone else have the same problem? This is a 2008 F350 4x4 but I never off-road in it.

It's common. If you're not doing the whole "off road/muddin'" kinda thing, don't sweat it.

Can it be pressed back into place or does it eventually need replaced with a new one? A mechanic just told me that they replace two seals per side.

If you are under the powertrain warranty still then it would be repaired for free. The dust seals have been updated with a new design.

They have to look it up by part # in order to tell you.

I think the powertrain from from ford only goes to 60K but check it out.
