I have read a lot of the bad on this models 6.0L engine but I think i found a good truck that might be reliable and a good deal. 24000
The truck currently has 85,000 miles,(Lariat Edition) long bed, 6 inch lift with 20x14 fuel hostage rims, mickey thompson baja atz's 35x13.50x20, keyless remote start, H-11 head stud kit $700, elbow, EGR block off, after market hogs head, K&N air intake, SCT chip, gutted cat, wet okole seat covers for the two front seats with console cover $450, 3 gauge pillar with exhaust temp, trans temp, and boost
The current owner has every record and receipt of all the maintenance and scheduled oil changes and so on with the milage that they were done.
does this sound RELIABLE?

 

I also test drove the truck and it ran very smooth with no hickups, jumps or stutters, ect. Also very clean lift and tires brand new

 

The "K&N air intake" is my biggest problem. It does not filter the air as it should. Lookup "turbo dusting".

 

how would i check on this problem, and also if i did purchase would that be the first thing to replace

 

Call me silly, but usually hopped up trucks or vehicles of any kind usually aren't being searched for under the "Reliability" section.

 

Price sounds right. Paid $23000 for my 04 lariat fx4 which had 57000 miles on it at the time. I have the k+n air filter set up. I havent changed it. Probably not gonna either. But if thats the only problem then you switch it back to the stock air filter setup. Get the oasis report done at the dealership, if you havent already. Sounds like some goodies are on it. And other than the air filter setup from everyjing i have read on these threads before they all sound good. Talk to Blade35. See what he says about those aftermaket items.
