radius arm

I broke the threads off the end of my raius arm. Do I have to replace the whole arm or can I just replace the threaded part? Its a 1995 F-150 4x4. It's a beater.

The threaded part is part of the arm. I think you'll have to replace the whole thing.

Time to check around the junk yards......

How in the heck did you break it off???

I had to replace the spring tower. It rusted almost in half. When I did I noticed the arm bracket had two holes rusted in it so I ordered a new one and tried taking the old one off. I put a 3/4 inch drive ratchet on it and the bolt twisted right off.

I'll beat the dead horse some more and agree that you'll need a new arm. Don't try to weld the pieces back together.

If your radius arm and coil buckets were rusted out that bad, I would take a long, hard look at the underside of that truck and look for other problem areas. You may have spring shackles, crossmembers, or parts of the frame about ready to fall off the truck and that could be deadly at 60 MPH.
