Oh sure, pick on the new guy...

See if I help either of you with you cams, blinker fluid or kerosene magnets under the head lights.

Been running the f350 for the last few weekends while I prep the f250 for an engine rebuild and transmission work to replace the tired f350 engine and tranny (looking like winter for the actual engine work and swap). I'm also looking out for a set of gt40 heads and the other upgrades mentioned earlier. Once I get to serious wrench-turning with the swap I'll post more pics.

anyhow, the f350 has been doing surprisingly well with the weekend work- she's stronger than I thought out of the gate. had a minor issue with the 4wd hubs, which I'll upgrade to some Warn premiums when I get the Dana 60 on the bench and rebuild it. None of the oddities bugged me until yesterday when she started idling funny, a bit high, and not adjusting well with throttle changes. I'm 90% sure it's a TP sensor issue, but when I went to pull the codes... BAM... the list kept comin.

The CE lit was on since I bought it in March, but with no EGR (cherry bomb exhaust pipes), missing back fuel tank & other "coat hanger and duct tape" mods it was expected. yeah I probably should have done it sooner, but here's what I got for the KOEO test:
31
84
-continuous codes-
29
31 (again)
63
96

My Hanes manual only has the 63 (TP sensor sig below min) and 96 (fuel pump circuit failure). Can someone help with the others?

Oh, and outside of a quick check I didn't fully test the vaccuum lines yet...

Did some digging on the codes. It took FOREVER to find this list of relevant ODB-I trouble codes, but here it is:
OBD-I 2 Digit Diagnostic Trouble Codes
ODB-I 3 Digit Diagnostic Trouble Codes

31-*PFE or EVP circuit below minimum voltage of 0.24
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...code-31-a.html
Since someone removed the exhaust and put cherry bomb pipes on it, there is no EGR valve anymore. The EGR pipe is closed off by the exhaust (at least I think it's the EGR pipe) before the muffler... I'll fix that by swapping the exhaust pipes off the F250.

84-*EGR vacuum solenoid circuit failure, EGR vacuum selenoid bad or circuit is bad
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...t-failure.html
See code 31 above- since there is no EGR I wouldn't expect the EGR vacuum solenoid circuit to be working normally. Two codes with one fix- love that!

29- VSS isn't working right (don't have exact code description)
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/2...ed-sensor.html
This one should be a no brainer- the speed-o doesn't work at all, so I need a new gear for the 4wd Borg Warner 1356 transfer case. that should also fix the 'Rear ABS' light on the dash (assuming its not the RABS valve).

63-*Throttle Position (TP) Circuit Low Input.
Part 1 -How to Test the TPS (Ford 5.0L, 5.8L).
Fuel Injection Technical Library » Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
It seems easy enough to switch the TPS out, but because the idle is controlled by input from several sources I'll fix the other stuff first.

96-*(O) Fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits
engine trouble codes 87 and 96 - FSB Forums
Given that there is no rear tank in the truck any more, I guess it's expected that the circuit would be malfunctioning. At some point I'll swap the F250 rear tank, tank switch and pumps. For now I'll just take the code.
