f100 emblems
This is to clear up some of my post, that I guess wasn't very clear...The two "f100" pieces cost me $90, and another $400 to have them rechromed. They turned out beautiful, but a little thick, from the chrome layers, and had to be ground down some....I did some grinding on the arrow portion also, to avoid messing up the rechromed smaller piece. I used epoxy to mount mine. To hawk1959, I do still have one F100 piece that is in 95% condition, that I was holding onto to use as a model for making new ones, but may be willing to part with. I don't know how to do that with this site, still pretty new, and I know that some things can't be done here. I'll try to check with the administrators to see how to do it.

F-100 Emblem
I would also be interested in purchasing the F-100 emblems. That is the only part I haven't been able to locate on my '58. If you do get them completed, please email me at ddozem88@hotmail.com

Well I am back to working on the emblem again. I have been working on it a little the last couple of days finishing up the minor repairs to the take-off's of the actual emblem. Today I also made a quick model of it for the foundry to use to make a gating model. So I can make the gating for the actual pattern. A guy I work with suggested making it out of steel instead of brass. I think I might end up trying to make it out of steel because the chrome will stick to it better. The steel is actually a little lighter than the brass and I think it might be a little cheaper to make as well.

Hey Guys I have an update on the emblem project.
This is what I did today. I made 2 Drag pattern pieces. I got them mounted to a pattern board. I also started a little gating on the drag side of the board.
I am planning on working on it again tomorrow. I am planning on getting the gating done on the Drag side. And maybe start on the cope side of the pattern.
Here are a few pictures:
Let me know what you think. I wil try to have more pictures Sunday night.
I want to try and get the pattern board done this next week so I can go and show it to the guy who will make my brass castings. So I can make the frames and make sure what I have will work ok.

Ok this is what I got done today. I milled out a pocket for the cope pattern because it will be all recessed. I also made all of the little end gates for the drag.

I had the other cope pattern poured yesterday. I talked to the guy that will be making the parts for me and answered a few questions. I was planning on making a set of frames this weekend but he decided to use a standard size flask that he has so I won't need to make a set of frames.
All I will need to do yet is final tune up of everything, put my mold locks on the board, and paint it. I should beable to get that done this weekend.
So maybe MAYBE next week or the following week I might have a set or 2 of parts? We'll see when he can fit me in to pour them.

Here's another update. I have it mounted down for the last time. All I have to do is finish up with some bondo work and paint everything and I am done and ready to make some parts.

Hi everyone!!!
I have some good news the pattern is finally done!!!
I just finished it tonight. I will try my best to get some parts as soon as I can as well as what I figure I will have to charge for the set. I must say though it might be a few months yet at best. By the time I have them molded, polished, sent out for chroming ect. The chroming is probably going to be the biggest time burner. seems like it usually takes a month or 2 for them to finish them.
Well anyways here are a few pictures:
