So I was looking to see if theres any law in Illinois about having your tires stick out, I cant find anything yet.....I would be installing Bushwacker flares and they cover 2" of the tire. So I would be having about 1.5" sticking out I dont know if thats going to be ok?
Maybe I should also install mudflaps?
Thanks ~Gage~
Nope, no law currently against that. I would definitely do flares, mud flaps are up to you.
Its just about what YOU want your truck to look like... i wanted my tires to stick out past the fenders because i think it looks cool. IMO i wouldnt put flares that go past the tires, but thats just me. Do whatever you want to, its your truck

I like the wider stance for stability, but I HATE the mud/snow/rain/muck getting all over my mirrors. Soooooo.... time for fender flares, lol
yea yours stick out a lot more than mine, but those look good. i did notice it was a lot more stable with the tires out though. even if the road is wet in one spot, entire truck gets plastered with crap haha, oh well

That looks great, I dont mind them sticking out like that but I dont want it sticking out 3".
What tires are you running?
My tire choices are Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T, BFG's KOs, Goodyear Duratrak.
maybe Coopers?
Thanks ~Gage~

Absolutely love them. No complaints, whatsoever. I don't know how long they will last, but I have yet to see 30k on a set of tires.
Thanks...now the reason I was going with 18s and not 17s is its seems like there are more tire choices with an 18" wheel, Goodyear BFG dont make a 35" tire for a 17" wheel that is E-rated. Anyone know why?
~Gage~
Your wheel edge or tire edge? Did you measure your without a tire mounted to get that number?
I didnt do the math on the wheels. I was just pointing out that the tire is wider than the wheel, and to be prepared for the outter edge to be further out than he may think. That math isn't that far off though.
The tires were mounted when I measured. However it was a 12" wide wheel on a 305 tire so the wheel edge was the farthest point anyway.
