Frame Problems. Where to find new metal?
Howdy everybody.
I need to replace the rear, cross-beam of the frame on my 1956 F-250. It was too thin to survive sandblasting, but the rest of the frame looks solid. I can't find a parts supplier that sells frame parts. Does anybody know where I could find a replacement piece, or should I have it custom made and rivet it on?
Thanks!
Richard

Are you talking about the farthest rear crossmember, at the back hanger of the rear springs? That's a pretty simple piece, and any good sheet metal shop should be able to bend you up a replacement easy and cheap. You don't even have to rivet it back in place. Some good strong, tight bolts will do the trick.

rear crossmember
I have a good crossmember from an F100. It should be the same but I'm not positive. You don't have enough posts on here to do private messages on here but you can call me. 479 647 6325. I do know all 53-56 F100 frames are the same except some difference in spring hanger location between the two earlier models and the two later years.
