It was 40-50 in the shop. Not super condusive to painting which likely played its role. I was having issues blocking and sanding the primer which was from my reasearch a issue with the product i used. I ended up stripping the primer back off and fixing what insaw thru primer as best as i could with out being able to do a guide coat. Then primed painted and cleared it. It isnt horrible but untill i devote more reasources to it, it will have to work. On a up note the pan spray bedliner does look the part. Though likely not as durable as a 2 part epoxy bedliner it will work and look better then any paint i wouldnhave laid on that panel. I guess at the end of the day i need to realize this is a cheap truck thats over 10yrs old with 346k it dosent have to be perfect.

Decided to clean the turbo while I'm waiting for parts. Glad I did, unison ring was stuck, cleaned it all up and lightly lubed with some anti-seize and she's moving beautifully now.

Should be able to get her up and running Sunday and have some power back.

I'm very happy I decided to check it. Wasn't any point in not since I had it out anyway. Didn't think I had an issue but had noted boost not building over 20psi when pulling our camper. Though maybe the tunes from Gearhead had that set as a parameter with the 10k studded tow tune, will find out once I get it back together and go for a joy ride. The 20psi was shown on my boost gauge and through MAP on Torque Pro.

I had rebuilt mine just prior to having to do a top end rebuild... wasnt expecting problems this soon... mine froze up last time i went to town with it... ended up melting the vanes & turbine wheel... ntm fused the unison ring to the turbos core housing.... trying to remove the vanes i ended up snapping off one of the poles they ride on... essentially the things totaled now... waiting on my new one to arrive which should be here tomorrow...

What turbo did you end up going with? With a bad core it makes the powermax seem even better id bet

KCTurbo Stage 1... unless i was going with bigger injectors the 1.5 was just too much for me... while itd work with the stock ones the turbo would out perform the turbo itself leaving the top end to kinda fall flat... with the stage 1 ill be able to pull end to end without suffering top end loss and the bottom end will still be responsive..

already got my new tunes and 3 new pyrometers waiting to go in.... if the ground wasnt so soggy id be working on the pyros today...

My truck is heavy so for your truck it should be under 5k, probably closer to 4k.
I keep a pair of ramps around that I made from solid pressure treated 10x10 wood. Haven't crushed them yet.

Today I am in the process of putting in a by pass oil filter. I got the mount bolts in. I am ordering some fittings and a hose. I also plan to add a valve, so some more fittings needed. I am excited to see how well it works.
