Two new Vatozone batteries under warranty. They don't offer the 850/1000A batteries here in the south anymore. Instead they replaced them with 65S (for southern) 700A batteries. I pitched a bitch and dude said if they didn't hold up they'd replace them with more 850's that he'd have to order. So far so good, but not cold either.....GRRRRR

Got it inspected. The lady at the counter (who had driven back out to the lot after inspection) said "nice truck!"

I guess the King Ranch interior surprises people who are used to work trucks...

This happened to me with the batteries on my '01. One of my 1000A batteries were bad and he looked me in the face and tried to replace it with a 700A. I very boldly made the point that this is NOT what I paid for and insisted he find a 1000A battery to replace it with. It was getting heated and some of the other workers there decided they had something to do in the back since they saw a 6ft 6in 400 pound man getting pissed. (Customers even got nervous, hand to God) He still had the ***** to still to his guns, so before I broke his face a few times, I left, went to another autozone and they were more than happy to swap me into a 1000A battery. Those who have met me know I'm not a violent person for someone of my size, but don't look me in the face and do something like that.

After that incident, when my 6.0 needed batteries, I went to O'Reilly Auto and got their maintenance free 1000A battery. Once the Autozone batteries head south for good, O'Reilly batteries are going below the hood of the 7.3.

On a lighter, less heated note, changed the oil on the 6.0 with some Mystik 15w50 after a full 7500 mile interval.

Not much other than putting the charger on it
to top off the batteries. Hope to be ordering
the transmission this next week. One of the
only two in the US right now in AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake | Parts & Accessories
system. Oh well I will get things moving on Monday.

If you get me your VIN, I may be able to beat the price you are being quoted on the trans. Drop me an email (ed@ficmrepair.com) with the VIN if you're interested.

$100 camber alignment today. Apparently, I put the bushing back on wrong when I did the ball joints.

This is my 4th set of these under warranty IIRC. Next time will be with some AGM's from Case because I get a better price and a MUCH better battery. AND I can pick out and order what I want.

Hmmm....I may go with AGMs then. I've been wanting to, just always caught me at a bad time when batteries needed to be replaced.

Ok I'll admit I didn't read everything posted in this conversation, but International has done me good. They even gave me replacement batteries when mine failed, after the warrantee expired, because of a design flaw.
