I loved it when Ron say "remember to ... or you'll going to hate life".

Miss him!

Today I replaced all my battery terminals and cable lugs. I bought all marine grade stuff on amazon along with a crimping tool. All the ends were looking pretty bad with corrosion.

I got the truck all together today from the sound deadening and some cosmetic changes such as vinyl wrap some part of the dash.
When I removed the front dash panel, the HVAC vacuum connector may have not been plugged in tight enough, now the pump runs all the time. Also, maybe when unplug it, it would cause leak and I wonder if I need to coat the tube with something to keep it air tight.

It's a very disappointing day for me though. The sound deadening effort helped alot, but it's still rather noisy. It's sad to say, but I may sell this truck and buy a gaser.
After all those work.

Mine still sits in front of my folks house from almost 2 weeks ago when I drove it down... Was supposed to be a simple trip to meet a contractor that I'd set an appointment with weeks 4 before, to look at adjusting the folks home's pier jacks. Until Dad got pneumonia in the middle of the night 2 days in to my trip... And been managing stuff for Mom and Dad since. He survived, but barely, and is now in a small care facility -- Foundation guys are coming this week as I won't let my be-atch of a sister near my Mom right now, and the house needs to be leveled. GOD works in mysterious ways...

Those of you with elder parents: love them and do what you can for them now, you don't know what tomorrow brings... Looks like I should be able to go back home after T-day that next weekend, when younger Sister comes home from her long planned vacation to Hawaii...

Now I'm thinking I should buy another charger and put it on before I go... But I have the Odyssey Extremes, they should handle a couple of weeks of sitting...

Take care all, and wish I could say something I actually DID to my 6.0 versus just see it out front each day....

Scott

im thinking i need some new plastic electrical charge holders... someones getting a little hard to turn over if she sits for a week or so since the cold temps have arrived... be nice if i could figure out where the coolant smells coming from in the engine bay... not losing any according to the tank... cant find any leaks but every time i shut down or while the engines still warm i can smell warm coolant... like as if its been running onto the exhaust or pooled somewhere thats just heating it or something... but cant find any puddles or leak trails.. no signs on the exhaust manifold... and none of the rubber hoses feel wet...

Scott,

Ah yes, the OH SH** moment. Had them repeat quite a few times.

My prayers he gets better and they both improve. And you keep your boat steady!

My saving grace was being an only child, no frustration with disappointment.

From Talking Heads ..... used to come up with my own lyrics to the music.

And you may ask yourself, well
How did I get here?

Well crap I had to put off my exhaust system install project to day because something came up.
I hope I can get my fingers into it on Sunday. I also need to see if I can pull the old one out
without having to cut it. I will have to see how that goes.

Put her to work. Had to move an 11 x 30 foot floating drive on dock that we had to partially disassemble due to width. Towed great, no complaints.

One trip too much today, wheel hub collapsed on the way back home in cloud of smoke. It'll get transported back to the old place tomorrow so I'll have to take the new hub there to get it replaced. And I was hoping to change it here tomorrow. So that will be another 400 mile round trip I could do without...

i wish i could tell if the noise im hearing from the front end is the hubs going again or just the new tires... their noisier than the old ones were... but lately ive gotten a vibration in the steering wheel when at highway speeds.... noise sounds like when your driving down the road with a strong head wind... weird thing is its not there for the first few miles but seems like after things would get "warmed up" it shows up...

Thats a bit like I had, even today, ok cold but then a wawawa as the wheel turned when warm. Later on the brake started grabbing, not severely but it kept me awake, and after that I started feeling the bearing through the steering. Don't wait for the bearing to collapse and start smoking, as that bit was quite exciting in heavy traffic.
Best jack up the wheel and see if there's any slop when you try to move it. My tires are loud too, but they make a constant noise.

Thanks Jack - Dad beat the pneumonia but it took him down a notch or two and now requires a special diet. Mom can no longer care for him with this and his dementia. We were lucky and found a nice small home based elder care facility... I've got some more work to do here, then next thing I do to my 6.0 is drive it home after Thanksgiving

Had a quick change of weather and had to transition from leaf pickup to plowing. Of course the batteries were getting a little weak at nearly 4 years old. Still had warranty left so replaced them with new ones for a little less than $100 each. Once those were in, added 1000 lbs of plow on the front and 1000 lbs of ballast sand on the back. Sure makes it ride much smoother with all the extra weight.

Oh great! Just keep the White stuff in the Hoosier State, not ready for all that.

Changed my engine oil today, almost a crime how easy it is.
