So what did you do to your 6.0L today?
The so called quick disconnects are not . They are an assembly short cut aka : quick connects.
They are not meant to be all that easy to remove and if you do unscrew one you have to watch
the internal cooler if you are going to reuse the radiator. The threads hold the cooler in plac.
Remove both and the seals falls out of place and your done.

Yessir I have 21 miles on it today, sitting in it now waiting for my girlfriend in the Academy parking lot. Pretty much done under the hood other than installing the regulated return when it comes in hopefully Friday.
I've been driving Monster to work daily for close to a month now!!!! This is awesome, so glad she's running like a tank!
Other than eventually getting a new 4 inch exhaust and a CCV re-route, I'm not looking to do anymore engine work on Monster.
Time to finish up the suspension work, wheels, and tires (I ordered my new wheels and tires today. Scheduled install for Friday morning. I decided to go with Ion Alloy 141's in 17x9 and wrapping them with 295/70R17 Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. )...then a new radio and some cosmetic work to the surface rust that is starting to rear its ugly head.

word of advise... ratchet wrenches are a must... youll need to loosen the up pipes to move them out of the way.. while it can be done from underneath, if you remove the fender wells it makes it 100x that much easier.. make sure to double check where the lines connect at the front and rear of the heads... even though i torqued mine to what it said in the instructions, i had leaks in those spots.. tightened them a bit further past the specs. no more leaks...
Started to replace the thermostat. Drained some coolant and got things removed and out of the way so I could access the 2 housing bolts. First bolt I cranked on stripped. I didn’t have the reverse easy out tool. Ran out of daylight So I put her all back together for another day. I’m driving her daily these days so can’t leave her dismantled.

I ordered the Driven Diesel regulated return so it has the oversize ported banjo bolts, not 90 degree fittings like some kits. The local Powerstroke shop apparently doesn’t know squat about the products they sell and sent me a fuel bowl delete kit instead of the standard kit. It’s aggravating when you try to plan days off to knock out several installs and people screw it up. Oh well!
For sure, I have already replaced my y-pipe so I’m pretty well versed in removal. I will probably go ahead and pull the turbo back out too to give me plenty of space. I hate trying to save time by not removing parts to access others. I’m going to also replace both V band clamps while I’min there because my y pipe clamp is worn out and won’t tighten down enough to seal my y pipe to turbo. I verified an exhaust leak there today, black soot on the intake manifold next to it.

yup can understand that... i had the advantage of installing it while i had the engine apart for the head gasket job... not sure how hard those plugs in the rear will be with just allen wrenches... i tried at first with them while the heads were still out.. but they were frozen in there pretty good.. ended up having to use my impact to get them out..
