Finally got around to fixing the glow plug codes. I had 3 faults on the odd side since early summer.

About a year and a half ago I had replaced all 8 glow plugs with some off ebay that were supposed to be better, more powerful heaters, but 3 of them died on the odd side. I replaced them as a PM item since I was doing injectors and stand pipes anyway.

I did buy new harnesses and I also put the originals back in. They looked new and ohmed out good. I only changed out the four on the odd side. Once I was done, no codes! Man, 5 & 7 are a beyotch to get to.

The even side glow plugs are still ok, but if they start dying out, I'll replace the glow plugs with the originals and I already have a new even side harness ready and waiting.

I have a couple extra plug removal tools if anyone needs one, just PM me.

Since returning my truck to stock tune I now have a P0470 code. Yesterday I removed the ebp for cleaning and TRIED to clean the connecter. Cleared the code. Started the truck, no Check Engine Light but Torque Pro is showing the code again. Sensor and pigtail is on order from Direct Diesel. Current EBP sensor has China stamped on it. Promised a friend I'd hual a shed for him today so I'll be taking it easy with that.

I think
Toreador_Diesel has a nice new looking part to install. Can I have two of the bananas? Please.
Yahiko, got a pic of your stereo?

My wife and family is looking for a B-day gift for me. I kinda threw a few hints at them. Rear differential cover or stereo with android capabilities. I did mention OEM oil filter return tube, filter, archoil but I couldn't wait. Got them last week. Waiting on factory oil cap and fuel filters from Riff Raff.

I installed an andriod unit. Pretty versatile and economical compared to the popular ones from pioneer, etc.

To take mine off I bolted a chain to a body bolt or Engine bolt on the drivers side and the other end to the water pump using a pulley bolt hole. I increased the tension until the chain was tight and used a big wrench and hammer. Two whacks on the wrench and the nut came loose.

yeah I put a drift punch in the water pump cover and wedges it against my intake then put an 18" pipe wrench on the nut with a long cheater pipe and pulled in it until it popped. It really wasn't that bad getting it off. The worst part was keeping the fan shroud out of the way to get the pipe wrench on the nut.

Loaded up the Atlas 40 with my 2004 PCM. Even with the PCM stock and the Atlas 40, VXBC3N2 is a serious beast.

The new trans feels MUCH better than with the lazy latest strategy I had VXDB1MZ. With VXDB1MZ talk about lazy, sloppy shifting and sluggish power.

VXBC3N2 runs CIRCLES around it, it sure makes the mandatory break in with no PCM tunes much more bearable.

The stereo was just a case of moving from the crash truck to the new one.
I'll see if I can find a photo of it to post.

I bought two new batteries for the new-to-me truck I just bought yesterday.

Have a new alternator and FICM with the 40 Atlas ordered from Ed.

What model of Joying is that one? Also on a side note anyone with
one of the Pioneer APP head units needs to not upgrade to IOS11
if they are using the newer iPhone or iPod do to some compatibility
issues. In other words Apple broke something again.

Here is the test from the Email I got today.

Important Notice: Incompatibility between iOS11 and AppRadio Mode

September 22, 2017

Dear Valued Pioneer Customer:

With the introduction of Apple’s new iOS 11 mobile operating system, Pioneer has discovered an
incompatibility with AppRadio Mode on certain Pioneer Navigation, DVD, and AppRadio receivers.
If you connect an iPhone® or 5th or 6th generation iPod touch® device that has been updated to
iOS 11 and launch AppRadio Mode, you will experience a blank screen or other display malfunction
that disables AppRadio Mode.

To maintain compatibility with AppRadio Mode, please continue using iOS 10 or older with your
iPhone or iPod touch. Pioneer is working to resolve the issue and will update this notice once
firmware updates for the receivers are available. For further information, including affected receiver
models, please visit Products | Pioneer Electronics USA
If you have any questions, please contact Pioneer Customer Service toll free
at 1-800-421-1404, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM (Pacific Time),
