So what did you do to your 6.0L today?

I think I left about 5 in the truck for testing the engine later. But I needed to
remove the HFCM so I can get the frame tool in there to try and move some
of the bend back. I need to get enough moved so I can get a radius arm in and
back onto the axle without twisting it. That way I can get it moved to a better
spot for the rest of the work I will do at the house. Then off to the frame machine.
What I think I am going to do is get it back on it's wheels going down the road
and sell it as a salvaged truck and take my money and run.
On other news I signed papers on the replacement truck today and it should be here
some time Saturday afternoon. I'll post photos once it's here.

Oh I'm not shy at all about swapping either harness. I'm starting with the external one and picking it up as soon as the parts department opens at 6:30. (I feel like a kid on Christmas, lol) I'm starting to think I had a good, new internal harness but I'm getting that warrantied out anyhow on Monday anyhow in case I'm wrong.
Sean, I may have missed a lot but did you end up buying your trucks twin?

Had a kit on the shelf so this afternoon I swapped out the original oil cooler and screen, or what's left of it. 175k miles not to bad. The EGR cooler outlet cover oring was disintegrating and the front cover doughnut was leaking. The cover seal near the front was also leaking periodically.
I reconditioned the unison ring while the turbo was out. Cleaned out the intake with some kind of degreaser I had laying around and finished it up with Purple Power and the pressure washer.
Tomorrow I'm finally going to weld up the ends of the EGR cooler with some slugs and get it back together. Oh, and I found a tear in the hot side hose on the turbo so I think I'll order one from RiffRaff.

Coming home from a short trip Saturday battery light came on about 50 miles out.Cut off AC and radio came on home. Voltage stayed between 11.5 and 12. FICM never below 48. Had a spare alternator at shop swapped it out and while I finally had some extra time I installed Bilstiens 5100 front and rear. I can't wait to get back on road to see the difference. The old shocks were Ranchos and looked like originals at 277,000 miles. Bet I'm going to love the ride.

Some more disappointing news on my end...
The harness the Ford dealer got me doesn't quite fit. I could've made it work, but it's missing a plug and looks like it's meant for a 2005-2007 Super Duty and NOT a 2005 Excursion that basically has 2004 wiring and electrical.
So if anyone knows of a wrecked 2004.5-2005 4wd Excursion that I could get the harness from, please let me know.

I got it from a Motor Trend spot on the Excursion when it debuted in 2000. They had a V10 Limited 4x4 Excursion showing off all the amenities of the limited, then they had a very basic 2wd, XLT truck, and the announcer said "Ford also offers the Excursion with an available 7.3 Liter Powerstroke Diesel". They cut to a scene showing the truck going down the road and he says "THIS is the The Tow Monster" and so that's how my '05 ended up with the name "The Monster". Then I noticed that yours was named "Monster" too, lol!
Right? Lmbo!

It is most definitely a good accurate name!!
Mine came about the day we went to look at it. My son was just a toddler and when he looked up at his car seat, he said something to the effect "Dad our new truck is as tall as a monster truck!"
