You know if you bring some good prime rib or rib eye we could swap the bed
here and eat steak after it's done and I have a place for the old bed. The recycle
center is only 5 miles from the house and a cut up bed moves out really fast.
A plasma cutter is so nice for cutting up things.

yeah if its not sanded right they come up... thats why i was wanting to get it line-x'd eventually... lifetime warranty... if it peels they redo it...

I hate leaks as they seem to come in pairs for me.

Does half an oil change count??? Just got back from a road trip and thought I'd try and scald the chit out of myself while the truck was smoking hot on a 95 degree day and dump the oil. Dang it is hot under there!

I'll fill it back up in the morning when it is cool out - let 'er drain all night and lick my wounds (burns).

Question is: what oil I'll be putting back in there....

Just took it out for a drive. Fired right up and idled smoothly. Got it up to temp and romped on it a few times.

Loaded it up with all my tools, degreaser, wire wheels, chassis saver, new shocks, floor jack and jack stands. Tomorrow I'm going to a buddy's body shop to start the rust stoppage project I've been planning all summer.

Installed the new EGR valve. Reset the PCM by disconnecting the grounds. See how it goes from there

this was what i found today...

some places are worse than others...

little work with the angle grinder w/ wire knot wheel

whats weird is my last truck had a drop in liner for 20+ years and didnt look anywhere near like this one does.. only thing i can figure is the drop in liner in the last truck was anchored all around where this one is only anchored in the front..

little white... doesnt bother me it doesnt match perfect.. like i said i eventually hope to do spray liner...
The times we had to buy a used truck for our testing we used to hate when they came in with a drop in liner, since the problem was always twofold. They move around and rub off the paint protection. And two, it stays wet under there unless there is a real good cover over the bed. Both just cause extensive rust issues.

You might want to take a look at what I've done due to that experience in my Facebook photo album.
