Is there a special way to program remotes? I tried cycling the ignition to on and off 5 times in a row and 8 times in a row and my locks never cycled. Do I need to be holding a programable remote for the lock to cycle? Is there any other way to tell aside from ripping the dash apart? Mines an XLT. I have the 1997 Ford F250 XLT LD

Under the lower dash above the pedals, if you have the Remote Box, you will see a grey connector with 2 pins, that "open" to the world. Turn key to on position. Use a paper clip to "jump" across the pins. The locks should cycle. Press any of the buttons on your remote(s). Turn key to off. Locks should cycle again. Remotes will now work. This is for the OBS trucks. Found the directions on FTE someplace. Search for RKE in the 94.5 to 97 diesel section if needed.
