1956 COE followed me home
I could not resist, Guess I like a challenge??? It looks great in the photos but has some major rust issues, floor, roof gutter, bottom edge of hood. all fixable but still alot of work. Not sure what I'll do with any of it just yet.
the back half of the truck Frame has been grafted on from another truck? don't know what either. the rear end is a 2 speed electric. and has Eaton on the back. havent looked at it enough yet to find any other info.
3 of the 5 wheels are 22.5" tubeless.
original Y-block (assume its a 272?)
flatbed is a beast of a thing (very heavy duty)
Also came with this 97 GMC approx 160" wheelbase boxtruck chassis. (1 ton??) steering box comes straight up off the frame.
here it is.
This Chassis might be a good one for either this cab for a transplant or maybe something else down the road? going to do some measuring and see what might work.

More COEs are good. I bet your frame is not from a different truck but was just shortened from the original and the flatbed built to fit the new shorter wheelbase. Unless you want to make it original, the newer chassis will give you a better ride. The newer chassis does look to be a P30 chassis or similar with the steering box upright.

Thanks,
any Idea what those rear ratio's would be?? may not matter much anyway I guess. but if it was a 5 lug I would be thinking about putting it under the F6.

I ended up selling this to a fellow who had a couple dozen trucks lined up along the freeway (I-15 East side just south of Spanish Fork)
(It was only there a few months before i assume he sold it since its gone) I thought i had seen it later on in some pictures from "Johnny's Junk" or johns f100's ? In Arizona? I had met him once here in Salt Lake when on one of his many excuresons foe old trucks and cabovers etc. Anyway. Dont know where it ended up?
I did keep the nice front bumper for my 53 C600 though.

Ok nevermind, thought you sold it right after buying it, lol.
I was wondering that myself, looks way different than what's on my truck. I just have a whole lot of leaf springs and even more leaf springs. Like all the leaf springs.
