Think Truck HPFP.........
-- High pressure system
-- Liquid, Not so good oil, NOT so highly refined
-- Filter systems: Two filter system, Highly effective for particles
-- Water: One drop causes massive damage
--- single - water separator

The Ford Truck Fuel system needs:
-- Better Water separation filters
-- Redundant Water Separation filters

Also, fuel pressurized past ignition point before it is in the cylinders + air bubble = ignition in the pump = failure of pump and everything after it.

It has been done and documented with race honda cars oil pumps when the oil gets foamed. One guy detonated 3 oil pumps before he figured out what was going on.
