Vacuum?
Can someone explain to me why a diesel doesn't create vaccum? I have been wondering for a long time and can't figure out why. What is it the design or the way a diesel works or what is it?

Vacuum?
In a gasoline engine, the butterfly valve in the intake system closes off the supply of air when the throttle is closed. This requires the engine to operate like a compressor as it tries to suck in air, creating vacuum.
In a diesel engine, the throttle controls the fuel flow in the fuel pump and not the air so the engine does not create vacuum. While fuel flow is reduced, air is still being pumped into the engine.
