aftermarket a/c parts

my van has a proair 1100 rear unit in it and I am trying to find another blower motor. I contacted pro air but they want $103 plus shipping; any ideas where I might be able to find one. Struck out at local salvage yards.

Pro-Air is pretty much proprietary in their parts but if you can remove the blower NAPA or another good parts suppler might be able to visually match it. There are a number of similar A/C & Heater units, most probably buy from the same one or two blower motor manufactures. Mill Supply is one but try this site too:MTG Parts | Limousine Parts Accessories.

If you call Pro-Air and have a business name even closely related to vehicle repair you might get a better price. I bought a heat only rear unit at a discount which was granted more because I called and talked to someone rather than through their online email system etc. When I asked about shipping they capped it at a fair price.

Honestly for the longevity and ease of obtaining the part that $103 doesn't seem too bad. Don't give up on the local visual matching though---it might be had for a lot less that way.

Try getting the exact part number and cross ref it, there might be a solution.

That's a great idea actually----wish I'd thought of it! Pro-Air's catalog from a few years ago shows the 1100 Series part number as: 50 001 223 (complete assembly) blower motor (only) 68 000 005.

I'd forgotten I had this catalog until BB's reminder--thanks and hope this new info can be cross referenced for a better price.
