Issues with new oil pan dipstick

So I bought a new Dorman oil pan, and it came with a dipstick provision. The only problem is its a screw in dipstick, not the push in. Called summit and they are telling me that they don't show my truck having an oil pan dipstick? They said it should be through the timing cover. Now I thought I distinctly remember both oil pans in my 82 and 85 302 having the push in dipstick? Anyone know what my issue is?

Summit is FOS, they're looking at CAR information, not truck.

According to my Spectra catalog, the tube in pan SBF is a van thing (FP01B) They sent you the wrong pan. The trucks had the push in dipstick in the block (FP01A). IIRC, the tube in timing cover is the passenger car.

edit: Chris snuck in before me... sneaky little moderator....

Gotta watch those mods, they can be very sneaky.

The tube in pan thing I also found to be a van deal. so I guess I'll just look at the block this weekend when I go to the shop, and as long as it has a hole in the block, I'll plug the threaded hole in the pan and go on my merry way? The plug shouldn't have any negative effects right?
