73 f250 dash lights

Hi
looking for ideas, small 5amp fuse keeps popping and loosing dash lights,
truck wiring is unmolested

Start tracing wires from the headlight switch to the dash lights. You'll probably find one that's rubbed through and touching the dash somewhere. If not, the circuit probably needs a larger amp fuse (though I doubt it).

I agree that you'll just need to find where the short is - what I don't agree with is increasing the fuse size to make the fuse stop popping. I don't recall what the factory fuse rating is for this circuit, but if it's blowing a 5 amp fuse, something is wrong and increasing the fuse size will let the wiring burn.

thanks for feed back, I think this may also be the original headlamp switch, might as well swap it out at the same timeJeff

Sorry, I was a little unclear. I meant if the factory fuse rating was higher. I don't condone putting larger amp fuses in place if a fuse keeps burning. I don't want to see someone's truck burning to the ground.
