Well if i'm accelerating normally in town it shifts about 2k or 2.5k rpms or 30-40mph, a little higher if i'm on the gas. If i'm going slow under 30mph it shift about 2k rpms. Another note it is a much harder shift at higher rpms which is what i would expect, almost normal under 30mph.

thats about right for normal driving, mine is a little rougher in the 2-3 all the time. And normal under WOT shifts, when does your truck shift during wide open throttle? I just posted about mine being low at 4700rpm when ever truck i drive or seen on you tube is at 5000 to 5100rpm shifts

Mine has a hard shift between 2-3 as well. So hard it feels like the truck got rear ended and the serpentine belt squeals. If I turn off my 5 Star it will slip slightly but not shift hard at all. I am pretty sure this is due to worn clutches and since the tune increases the line pressure it causes a harder shift to make up for the slipping. Pulling my tranny out tomorrow and doing a rebuild. I'm curious to see how bad my clutches are.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/12...-3+shift+4R100

Have a look at the second page on this thread. If the link doesn't work put hard 2-3 shift 4R100 into the search box and look for the link dated 1/22/13 by maxfam.

Have it scanned for codes. And not at an auto parts store, they can't read the codes that you need.

after fixing my trans issues and talking to Brian from BTS seems the 4R100 have alot of issues. Most of the time being a bad or broken shift spring, i installed a transgo shift kit and even though i didnt find a broken spring the transgo kit COMPLETELY fixed my weird shifting issues

Mine will hard shift from second to third if I am accelerating but let off the gas before it shifts. How hard is it to install the transgo kit?
