Earthquake Build thread ....slow but sure.
This one's gonna go REALLY slow, but every update I have, I'll post. Here's where I'm starting. A parts truck I traded a gutted parts truck for. A '78 F150 Ranger 4X4.
Here's the graphic that goes across the top of the windshield....
Yes, this is the third iteration of Earthquake. It will also be the last.
Today I made a deal to unload a low mileage Buick engine for the rest of the graphics for Earthquake. I'll get some pictures of them when I get them designed and cut.
..............and so it begins.

To answer some of your questions.....
This will be an all out monster truck. Picture "Thunder Beast" and "Bigfoot 1" for what it's going to look like.
I'll be doing the body work and paint FIRST on this one. It really sucks to spend 100+ hours on a step ladder doing bodywork.
As far the antenna goes, these are old trucks. The original antennas were broken and replaced with different styles available at any K-mart, Radio Shack, Napa, or Auto Zone type place around. There's hundreds of different ones.
Ches, Rich, Bob, RC, and the rest of the Missouri gang, you bet I'm gonna need a hand when it comes to the heavy lifting part. While it's a little ways off, I'm sure you guys will participate in some way or another.
I'm supposed to meet with the sign guy today. Ches, I'm not sure if it's your guy or not. He sounded young on the phone. I e-mailed him about that 3.8L Buick I'm pulling out of the Fire-Chicken. He wants it for his car. We'll talk about some of the stuff I want for Earthquake. Again, Thunder Beast and Bigfoot 1 are the inspiration, ......with a little Grave Digger flare thrown in for good measure. It should be pretty cool if it all works out.

Just a quick update. I said it was going to be slow.
The sign guy has the side graphics cut and I've been trying to work out a deal on a chassis. Since that has been a no-go, I'm gonna focus on the metal work. Most of the rust will get cut away when I stretch the wheel wells in the same way Bob Chandler did on BF1. For now, I'm gonna get it running as is so I can move it around to work on it. I still have another couple projects ahead of this one, but I'm trying to keep everything moving forward.

Ok where is this getting built in the back yard or driveway? And I will have leg lengtheners on that dang trolley beam for you.
You know you do this and I will want to start Penny's rig... motor, lift, tires are the easy part then the tube chassis.
Can you plan it in 30 work increments while I am home please.
