I actually have a f100 not a f250 i'd like to swap to a newer frame so it will be easier adding power steering 460 a lift and more weight capacity

Carry more weight?

The PSP or a local will ticket you for anything over the 5000# gross vehicle weight if they run you through the scales.

Your PA title and registration on the F100 will restrict you.

Believe me they look for overloaded pickup trucks...............Remember where you live. If it is fun, it is illegal.

Ive got a 66 f100 on a 75 highboy frame with a 429 cj, c6, 205 and the mounts are almost identical. just had to machine about a 2 inch piece of flat steel to relocate one of the mounts forward a slight bit for strength

Cab swap

Has anyone swapped a 1966 F250 2WD cab onto a 1966 F250 4x4 frame? If so how much fabrication was needed for the cab mounts and firewall modification for the steering column. Did the 2WD brake / accelerator pedals work ok on this chassis. I'm looking at making this swap and wondered if anyone had already done this successfully. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I know this is getting to be kind of an old thread, but id like to know how your guys swaps went. if anyones out there willing to lend some input, what bumps in the road do you all think will happen when putting a 65 F250 2wd cab onto a 79 F250 4x4 frame? I got a killer deal on a 79 F250 snow fighter with D60 front & rear, everything seems to match up, cab mount wise. I have a 390 that i will be putting in place of the 400 that was on the 79 frame, but gonna keep the t18 and np205.
