Best place to buy Transponder Key Blanks

I need to get some extra keys for my truck and explorer. Where is the best place to order blanks from online? Lock smith here wants $40 just for the blanks!

2008 F350
2000 Explorer

I know if I have the original two keys I can get a blank cut and program a new key myself.

You sure your 2000 takes a chipped key? Pretty sure 2002 was the first year for chipped keys for the Explorer. There are key places that can make chipped keys. I have a place locally that makes them for like $55 each. The are not OE but they work the same.

Google "PATS Job Aid".

Aftermarket PATS blanks are inexpensive on eBay.

KEYS

Take a look on Ebay. I got 10 of them about 8 years ago for all my cars, and they all still work. I think they were about $12 back then.

Better locksmiths can also clone your key, if you only have 1, or need more copies than what the factory programming allows. They put your chipped key in a machine, and it reads your chip. They use a blank and it burns an identical chip reading on the replacement key. $75 out the door in Chicago for 1 key cloned.

You can get the cool all in one alarm and chipped Taurus keys on ebay for around $30.
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

NVM looks like they don't list either of your vehicles for that specific key.

1998 was the first year, and the keys from Ford shouldn't be more then $37 because their cost isn't more then $17 per key.

My local dealer said $35, but only if I had two keys from which to make another copy. It was over 100 if I only had one key! Gone are the hardware $2.00 keys :^(

I bought 2 chipped keys for my Focus on ebay for $18, then slipped a mechanic at dealer 20 and I was good to go. I believe the locksmith wanted $100 for one because I only had one original key.
