2005 f250 4x4 V10 Crew Cab FX4

Got under the truck tonight to take off the skid plate and change the oil in the transfer case and found some wiring charred, wondering if anyone has wiring diagrams that can tell me what the wires are for and if anyone has any idea on why they would do this. The wire colors are as follows big wire is Red, White small wire, and small black wire with red stripe. I unpluded both the transfer case wire and the 4X4 electronic mod, and it seems like the red is going to the 4x4 electronic, and the other two are going to the transfer case. This shows a location of where the wires are at, they come from the frame, over to the transfer case and one plug goes to the transfer case and the other to the 4X4 electronic mod...the loom also goes up from there, but can not tell where it goes.

Also changing the fluid on the transfer case, anyone have the quanity and what to use?

 

Anyone have any info on this?
