Doing so is a waste and usually does more harm than good. Suck too much in at once and you can hydolock the engine, dilute the oil among other things. If you want to clean the fuel system and top end pick up a couple bottles of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner (same as the Motorcraft brand) or pick up the Motocraft kit that plugs into the fuel rail.

Okay, I've been reading and they say as long as you pour slow and only 1/3-1/2 a can you'll be okay. Do you know where to put it in though?

The only way I have ever used Seafoam has been thourgh the engine oil or through the gas tank. The one time I used it in the oil was an old trail beater XJ and it had about 300k on it, an I wanted to see if it would do anything to it at all. It got tons of **** our of the motor, but other than that I could not tell much. It is a great product for the fuel system though, I like it over some of the other brands. Not needed most of the time though. JOE>

Ditto on the Techron. If you are trying to fix something then go with the Techron Concentrate. If you are doing preventive maintenance then you can get the Fuel-Injector Cleaner.

I ran it though my V10, my buddy did a buy one get one free and I said sure why not. I ran it though the brake booster and it sucked it up so fast it sucked up the whole can!! My engine didnt care though, kept running like it was nothing.. Let is set for half hour and started it back up, it barley wanted to run and then the smoke started to pour out, it will fogging up the whole block so I went to drive around and eventually the idle smoothed out and because smoother than it was prior to the treatment. Before I could feel the truck idle and after this I could no longer feel it.

I personally think Seafoam is a better product than Techron. I have had a lot better results with it on a 4.6L, 5.4L and an old 5.0L.

I do not suck it into a vacuum line, though. I dose the tank before filling up.

I have been fighting a misfire on a V10 with 153k mi on it (see story here).

I put 2 cans of Seafoam in the tank (44 gal tank) and 91 octane fuel. Ran through the whole tank to till the low fuel light. Still misfiring.

I added one bottle of Techron Concentrate in the tank with approx 15 gal of 91 octane in the tank and the misfire appears to be going away. Ran much smoother tonight on my commute home.

That is my experience with both.

I'm ready to do my plugs. While talking to a Ford mechanic waiting for the part guy to show up, he said they have the customer run a can of seafoam and a full tank. Fill up again then when it hits half use another can and run it till your close to 1/4. Suppose to clean out the carbon around the plugs helping then to come out easier. I've used Seafoam to store bikes but never like this. Does this sound right? I usually use techron.

I use Sae Foam in every gas engine I own as a fuel stabilizer and occationally as a heavy cleaner. I use it most often to clean carburators on my quads, it is awesome for that.

^^^This^^^

I use it as an engine flush in the oil whenever I buy a used vehicle, and run a can through the gas tank every 1000 miles or so as an additive. I put a can in the gas tank of my toy hauler at the end of the season as a fuel stabilizer, and when i gas up my quads they get it as well. I also put it in the tank of my Jet Ski's for the same reason.

Hasn't let me down yet.

Also I have heard not to run it through higher mileage engines. Sometimes the crud is the only thing stopping a leak.
