I was picking up my Rotella oil when I noticed that wally world is selling the blue def for 11.97 per 2.5 gallon jug, will make it convenient, I've been to some of the chain auto part stores and ask for DEF and the have no idea what is , nor do they carry it yet.....
Thanks for the info. I have also found that even though the person at the counter in some of the big chain stores has never heard of DEF, it is usually sitting on the shelf near the additives / oil section. I have educated many a clerk at places like Autozone and Advance Auto.
Walmart has had DEF for 16-18 months. I've bought numerous jug there since I bought my truck in Aug 2010. Especially when I travel and am in a strange city where I don't know the best prices. I know I can run into Walmart and get it for less than $12 a jug. Which is typically cheaper than stopping at the interstate truck stops.

No DEF at wallyworld here in Colo foothills. Asked the service counter guy 2 days ago, didn't even know what DEF was. After a quick lesson in modern diesels, he replied that he 'may' have heard of DEF. Oh well.

Same here in E. TN. I bought my truck in Oct. 2010 and I noticed it there shortly after that when I was in there shopping for other stuff.
I still go into Pep Boys just to mess around with the clerks and ask for some Diesel Exhaust Fluid. Its way to funny to see the deer in the headlight look or they simply say "huh"? O'Reillys is where I get mine, $11 for a 2 1/2 gallon jug of Peak Blue DEF.

O'Reillys and Advance carry the stuff here.

I have found they don't all carry it yet. When I was looking for it last summer I checked online and my local Walmart did not but one 40 min. away did. You can check on their website. Fortunately my local Autozone is now carrying it.
I found it in my local Walmart but the jugs had the 16-18mos of dust on them from sitting on the shelf. Not sure of the shelf life on this stuff but I went elsewhere for it.
Many of the Valero gas stations here in the Houston - Austin Texas area carry the peak DEF. I havent been brave enough to ask how much it is but if you accidentally get low......
No options to buy at the pump instead of jugs around your area? I'm glad that we can buy DEF at the pump near by now ~$2.40/gal.
That's a darn good price. I was looking into buying 55 gallon drums and even with that you're still paying around $4 a gallon.
(On a side note, for an individual, a 55 gallon drum likely isn't a good idea. Apparently the stuff starts to go bad after a year. So, unless you do a ridiculous amount of driving, it's a little tough to go through 55 gallons in a year.)
