Changing from 6volt to 12 volt G.P.

Hi I was wondering if anyone had done this? and what all is involved? I'm thinking as I still have my engine out, if all I have to do is change the spade style connectors out. and the GPS, I might as well do it. Thank You in advance. Mudguts

be sure that your GPs and their controller are designed to work together, and you'll be fine. if your controller is designed for 6v plugs, it'll have trouble warming up 12v plugs as the plugs won't be getting enough voltage

You'll need the glow plug wiring harness from an '87 6.9 or any 7.3 engine.

Junk yard will be your best bet.

ZD9 is for the solid state system 87+ so yes, 12V

The ZD1's are the old spade connector 6V ones.
