Just pound the bottom of the filter in a bit with a hammer for clearance.

just installed my new Donaldson filter today. it fits wonderfully. so nice to do a 4 gal oil change. I bought them here
Oil filter, ELF7405, Donaldson

very quick shipping. the initial sign up was a little quirky, but painless after that.

I added a home made bypass filter so I already use 4 gals, but when I change the bypass filter every 5, I still gotta add a quart.... So every 15k I only use 18 qts.

With the Donaldson Filter and Rotella Synthetic, would that extend your oil change intervals?

It has that potential. the only way to know for sure would be to have an oil analysis done. I usually run mine 5-6K. I can usually tell by the way it sounds that is due for an oil change. Of course mine works pretty hard. Other truck owners may, and often do go many miles farther.
I figure a $125 oil change is cheap compared to 10K-15K for an engine.

I run a Donaldson with a by-pass and I plan on a 15k or so change. In case some have wondered just how far the donaldson will hang on their truck...
