New guages and pod.

Hey everyone, I went ahead and ordered the 3 guage pod from GlowShift and got the boost 0-60 psi. fuel pressure 0-100 psi and egt 0-1500. I had read several reviews on them and despite a few bad ones (mainly from heresay), most that have them seem to like them. Some of the complaints that I read were that they could not be hooked up to a dimmer. Well I dont know if they just started making them but the 7 color series has a nighttime dimmer option. It will be the weekend before I get em put in but they look good in the box. Ended up getting the white faces since itll match the white faces in the dash. Ill post pics during the process. Also gonna put in my new ebp sensor and go ahead and put in the blue fuel spring and new thermostat (think ive been running a lil cool) so Ill keep the post updated.

Good choice!
i have 7 Glowshift gauges and love em.
Keep us posted on the dimmer option. I have the older ones and sometimes at night they are alittle too bright.

Suscribing... If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for everything. Specifically interested in the fuel pressure gauge...

Thanks,

I ordered the 3 guage+pod kit where you select which guages, added the wiring kit and the fuel adapter fitting and total was 242.95 but found a 10% off coupon code that knocked 24 bucks off. Ordered them Monday and they had free shipping and arrived yesterday. Pretty good deal I think.

I have almost that exact same set up, only I went with fuel pressure, EGT and trans temp. I bought the three pod set up and have the 7 color glo-shift gauges. I painted the pod to match the interior and it looks really good. I think the gauges are great, easy to install and work properly. My only issue is that the glo-shift gauges are very long and they have a hard time sitting in the pod fully flush. I did use the little shields on the gauges, and they almost take up the space but not quite. That is my only complaint, other than that they are great.

I think you got a good deal as well, that FP gauge is a chunk of change by itself. BTW, I can never find an online coupon for anything...

Well finally got time this weekend to install the guages in the truck, along with upgrading to the blue fuel spring and replacing my ebp sensor and a new thermostat. Got everything put in, went for a test drive and the pyro read 5-900 degrees depending on hills, fuel pressure roughly 65-70 psi and boost ran pretty consistant with the stock guage and scanguage 2. ECT came in 188-191 degrees with EOT 197-198 holding steady at about 65-70 mph for about a 20 mile drive. Truck seems to accelerate smoother and more responsive with the fuel spring. Mounted the boost fitting on the intake underneath (pics showing) and the egt probe pre-turbo in the bend of the manifold. Wiring was a bit tricky with tucking them out of the way but considering everything we done today I think it went pretty well.

Nice clean install.
How did you make out with the dimmer wiring? I'm just curious if I could try it with my older Glowshift gauges.

The dimmer wire dims them like 30% automatically when the lights are turned on, you cant dial them down like you can your interior lights. They are still bright but anything helps. I am satisfied with them so far. I may remove the pillar and try to retuck the wires better, it was a real tight fit but we didnt really trim wires so there is a pretty good wad under there. Other than that its a-ok.

Drove the truck for probably close to 100 miles today and fuel pressure is holding 72-74 on the high and about 68 or a tad lower on the low side. EGT's running around 8-900 at its highest with cruising speeds about 5-600. EOT 197-201 with ECT 188-193. Here is another pic of the guages from the side. Very satisfied with everything so far.
