Need Help I have a question my 2016 Ford F250 Super duty Turbo Diesel is having some issues with the display where when you fill it up it will tell you that you have 400 miles left until empty. My fuel gage is working fine but not the miles left until empty display that is above where it shows how many miles you have on your truck. I had a recall on this truck last year they had to reprogram the truck computer something to do with the fuel exhaust warning light staying on or when you have a malfunction but you really don't. Well anyway My truck has a 35 gallon tank and when I use to fill it up my miles to empty display would read 400 or about 410 miles left to empty, after the recall on the truck and the reprograming of the trucks computer I noticed that when I now fill up the truck it now reads 207 miles left to empty.

I took the truck down to the Ford dealership and I have an appointment so they can put the truck on the computer told me it will take all day for the computer to talk to the truck, they also said that worst case scenario they might have to pull the fuel tank and I might have a bad fuel sending unit inside the tank, I find that hard to believe because I only have 54,000 miles on my 2016 truck and yes I do drive it, it gets about 12.9 miles to the gallon. So any suggestions or thoughts on what's going on? there is no way my 35 gallon tank says I can only travel 207 miles before empty when my fuel gage is working right.

 

Well the Ford Dealership said I need to replace the fuel pump and sending unit in my Truck, interesting the truck only has 54,000 miles on it. Which means they will have to pull the fuel tank off the truck and I will have to wait for the parts because their are not any in their supply chain. That sucks.
