I didn't read your links, but now that we (trans/myself) have an agreement on how to treat one another, we have a mutual love and respect for each others habits.

Honestly though, now that that kinks/quirks have been worked out of it, I give it 2 thumbs up. Go test drive one if you haven't, its got alot of (new to me) features that make it great.

Mine is only 4,000 miles old, but it sure does great. I think this one does the downshift thing in tow-haul much better than my '08 did. The '08 would give a pretty good lurch, and if you weren't prepared, it would give you quite a rush. I did not notice that in my first tow with the new truck.

I love the new transmission, you can't even feel it changing gears unless you stomp on the GO pedal

If I follow you right, I think that you are looking at putting a 6R140 on your V10?

Good luck.

I dont think it will work. You cant even take a 4R100 from a 7.3 and mate it up. The 6R140 will bolt up the the 3V V10. Something tells me it wont be the same as the 2V.

I'm getting more serious about changing trannies as well. I'm currently stuck on the programming stage. There has to be someone out there who will setup a controller for the 6r140. Now that the f650 has the 3v v10 mated it should make it even easier to use as a reference for the 2v. If anyone knows of someone who does this type of work please chime in. I'm ready to invest in the prototype as I think this idea will really take off as these older v10's start to burn up 4r100s. Those extra gears should make the v10 a contender with the 7.3 again IMO.
