My MPG numbers are about the same as yours.

$200 because they must run full synthetic and fill up the exhaust fluid. I don't know what the capacity is. I never considered the diesel for very long, but that is something that can really add up annually.

You probably want to break out the calculator and see if the diesel makes sense based on how many miles you drive a year, the maintenance costs, fuel costs, etc.

Before I ordered my 2012, I thought about a 2011 leftover diesel since the rebates were huge. My truck is mostly a daily driver like yours will be, and a gas version is already overkill. Getting the diesel without needing it to pull significant weight frequently was one of the reasons why I skipped it. Also, the emissions stuff, the additives, and some of the stories I've heard also made me go with the 6.2.

Also, keep in mind, diesels need to come up to operating temp....short trips and idling are not ideal.
Yea,I'm gonna do some figures tonight and see where I stand on paper.

I defiantly want another superduty. Some people have said to get an F-150,But it's not for me.I'm not going to buy anything but another Ford and not gonna do the diesel thing this time around.

Like it was said eariler....I'll probably be having so much fun driving it,I won't care about MPG's!

Thumbs up Mileage

My numbers are almost exactly the same as those ^^^
Have seen 14.2 on the interstate, and as low as 9.9 pulling trailer in the mountains.
I went with 3.73 after much thought. My truck is a 350 Dually and even with 3.73's the 245 X 17 tires are 2" inches shorter than the SRW 350's.

My old 06' 350 Dually Tow Boss with 4.30's and Banks helped 6.0 could pull the world but would NOT see 14 if it fell out of a tree with a tail wind.

So 14-10 mpg at .50$ cheaper per gallon and wrapped in the 2012 interior and sheetmetal.......no contest

And yes it is fun to drive, without all the noise and cloud of smoke!

Wow L&D's Broncos

That dually set up is exactally what I hope to be buying sometime this year, except in supercab cause the kids are grown up and gone! Love that silver and am glad to hear the dually is capable of over 10MPG with the 6.2.

While not as fancy as kmonty2 My first year 7/10/10 - 7/11/11 is below:

Miles -21819
Fuel - 1966.2 gallons
my $$ don't seem right because I tried to use Quicken & it works outs to $2.96/gallon which doesn't sound correct..

Overall average - MPG - 11.1

But - remember my truck weighs in at 8250# - Larger / heavier tires (mud grips) ranch Hand bumpers, full toolbox - back when new without mods I was getting 12-13mpg

Data For now (about 1 1/2 years) 3260 gallons/ 34379miles but probably 36097 by the gps figures - My odometer has been low 1 mile per 20 miles by the GPS since new... Yes - I check regularly on highway trips... Overall still 11.1 mpg

I drive highway , city , ranch roads - Idle a lot - & press the speed limit at all times - 70 =74mph, 80 = 84mph -

Gosh...I thought the SD 6.2L would get better mpg's.

I was hoping for 15 or 16 per highway...

My '03 SD V10 gets 14 highway running empty...and mixed driving I get 12mpg.

Hmmm...

I seem to be getting around 13mpg with a mix of city/rural driving. This obviously is with winter blend fuel, so in the summer it will be better. Also, I have 3.73 gears.
