Just Bought 97 F350 Crew Cab

Hey yall

i spent alot of time down in the IDI section messing with my 94 and i finally got to the point i could afford a payment on another truck and found this 97 PSD im picking it up tomorrow the bank said i was good to go saturday

ive already got everything to do an oil and filter change, coolant, trans filter, air and fuel, ect.

it has a TS chip on it the one with the 5 or 6 position turn **** are those decent chips? also does EDGE CTS work decent with these computers how many parameters can they access? are they worth the money? i have no experience with this stuff whatsoever, i have limited experience with these light duty diesels, i work for Detroit diesel and work on road trucks all day but this chip and tuner stuff is all new.

1997 f350 powerstroke diesel xlt 4x4 crew cab srw

Nice looking rig! I've had lot's of different powerstroke trucks, but my 97 has been the best, and toughest, and most reliable of them all!

Welcome to the PSD section! Nice truck! The TS style chip is what most of us run. They are the best for our trucks.

Keep the ts..trash the k& n and get a 6637 from riffraff or diy one.

Custom tunes on the ts when you have what ever mods you want get some custom tunes put on that chip.

You do not want anything from edge...none of us do

if your looking for something to see parameters just get Auto Enginuity Diagnostics.

unless your looking for a live driving feed without a laptop in which case i would recommend the Scan Guage 2 with the proper X Commands entered.

They come with what we call canned tunes on them. It won't hurt the truck at all. With stock injectors you won't see much HP gains with it. You can tell a little difference in the first couple settings, but after that, you won't get anything until you have supporting mods like bigger injector etc., but then you will need to send it in to the tuner of your choice for a re-burn with custom tunes for your mods.

I haven't either. My boss puts them on everything! I'm surprised he doesn't have remote start on his riding mower! LOL! I don't know how they work with the glow plugs, but I'm pretty sure some guys on here have installed them.

You just tie in a 12v to the WTS light and then it won't try to start until the WTS light goes out.

Look at the Areoforce interceptor. It'll read live data and codes

search on amazon for viper 5704. one of the best systems for the money, 2 way comms with a range of up to a mile.

it has settings for diesels.

There is an axle code inside the door jamb on the VIN sticker
