Found this picture on the Slick 60's site. This guy mounted a 67-72 front sway bar on his early 60's F100.



Here's a pic of my front suspension. Notice how the shocks are mounted compared to the previous picture.



Do you think it would work if I were to drill holes in the lower shock mounts to serve as the lower mount for end links? Have any of you successfully mounted a sway bar on your truck?

 

The pic of your front end didn't come thru. I think it should be fine to mount off the shock backets. It seems to me that the closer you are towards the outside of the truck the better.

I dont see why it wouldnt work on your truck, frame width is the same and the front axles are the same design so you should be able to make it work.

That's really odd, I see both pictures and can blow them both up fine, I'll see what I can do. At any rate, I'll try to find one at a junk yard and see if I can install it.

FYI, the axles are slightly different, that's why I'm asking if anyone has done it before. The later axle has the lower shock mount in the axle out toward the wheel. Ours have the lower shock mount just about right where the picture above shows the end link connected. I'm worried that the end link and shock will try to occupy the same space

I also see what you mean about double occupancy! Can you heat the sway bar and open it up a bit and put tabs just outside the shock brackets?

 

I think heating he sway bar could mess up the temper of the steel pretty well.

How about mounting the sway bar at the rear of the axle? looks like you might have enough clearance to get it in front of the transmission. Kinda tough to tell without measurements. Then you can mount it to the axle the same as in the sample pic.

On second look the steering may get in the way mounting it from the rear...
