Right I understand, I did read the whole thread. Sounds like your choice is easy. I would make certain the engine coolant lines to the exchanger are clear and not plugged, because that portion of the system is passive and could easily plug. But you will still have the benefit of engine coolant to pre-warm you trans fluid.
I struggle with the english language in written form, my native dialect is "hickaneese"!

Haha "hickaneese" that gave me a good laugh this morning. Something I really needed. Ok back to the trans situation. So the original has benefits too then...on pre warming. The only thing is that one of the hoses from the cooler along with one hose from the heater core have to go to the water pump. On the y block water pumps there are two places for either a water fitting or nipple. So correct me if im wrong. The one on the right if you are standing in front of the motor is threaded for the bolt for power steering but if you arent using power steering you can use that for water source?

cooler

Well that hose definately goes to the water pump and another guy has told me the same.."If you are standing in front of the truck the threaded hole on the right side is where it goes" which would be where the power steering bolt goes. So does anyone have a picture of this? Maybe manual you can take a picture of I know they had this in 1955 too. I also would like to know what fitting to use. Thanks

Ok well heard more guys talk about it and did more research. It is for sure not a "cooler" its a "warmer" or "heat exchanger" so now I need anyone that has the same set up or can find me a diagram on how everything looks or is hooked up. That would be awesome! Thanks!

It IS a cooler when the trans is workin and the fluid is warmer than the coolant, otherwise it helps get the cold fluid up to operating temp sooner when cold and keeps it at the proper operating temp while running.

If you SERIOUSLY need it working POST PICTURES of what pieces you have and what parts you are having trouble with because it's operation, layout, and pretty much everything else has been explained to you MANY times and I posted a photo for you to show whats what. I for one am at a loss of what more info a person could possibly need to get this connected, you just keep asking the same question over and over and over again and it is frustrating for more than yourself!

There are three (3) coolant connections and two (2) oil connections and one (1) bracket that need to be connected. Throw us a bone a post up photos of exactly which parts arent working for you.

Sorry for being a dick but 38 posts seriously? It is a VERY simple operation to hook up this cooler and you are making a mountain out of it! Shoulda had it hooked up and cruising three weeks ago!
