Hello,
I've got a 69 F100 and since I've owned the truck (few months) I have not been able to get the gauge cluster to work. The fuel, voltage, and oil pressure and temp are DOA (speedo does work). Any pointers on where to start?
I know why the temp does not work (its been disconnected and replaced with a auto zone gauge pod)
I'm really only concerned with the fuel gauge for obvious reasons.
There is an instrument panel voltage regulator, IPVR, somewhere behind the cluster. Don't know much about it other than it powers the cluster. Might check the tech section of this site or fordification.com to see if there is a schematic that shows where it is and how to test it. Might also try searching the forum for IPVR, or "gauges don't work." Someone who knows more than me will hopefully chime in soon.

Welcome to FTE
The speedometer has nothing to do with it...it's not electric.
Bolted to the backside of the instrument cluster is: C6DZ-10804-A .. ICVR = Instrument Cluster Voltage Regulator (Motorcraft GR-510) / Obsolete / Available from autoparts stores.
Applications: 1967/69 F100/750 / 1970/77 F500/750 // 1966/68 Falcon/Fairlane/Comet / 1966/69 Lincoln (not Mark III) / 1967/68 Mustang/Cougar/Galaxie/LTD.
This little charmer regulates 'juice' to the gauges. When it begins to fail, the gauge needles do "the hula" .. swing wildly back/forth on their own. When the little charmer burns out, the gauges no longer work.
Take the original ICVR with you to the autoparts store so you can match it up. There are 10 other types, and most autoparts store parts clucks don't know one from another.

Thanks in advance.
I can not find the thread put some have had to clean the contacts inside the tank.
Quick check, Use a test light at the sending unit wire. Light should pulsate. No pulsate =ICVR. Pulsates, try grounding wire if gauge reads full - sending unit
Sir, Before reconnecting the new regulator check that the wires going to the 3 circuits are not grounded , if the old one was burned out , a short to ground will burn out the new one also. Kenny
Pulled gauges out found a funny looking resistor. It was connected to the IPVR. I ohmed it out and found it was busted. Anybody know where I can find a replacement? It has a part number on it( C7AA I8A952-A)
