Where is the block heater cord?
Hello,
I have a 2001 F250 7.3 Crew Cab.
A few weeks ago I tried to find my block heater to warm the engine up. It was snowing. Could not find it. Truck started right up anyway, but I would still like to try the block heater.
Could someone point out the general location of the cord?
Thanks,
redbug

Mine is behind the front liscense plate. If you look above the oil filter there should be a cord coming from the engine block. The cord coming out of the block is red or orange I can't remember for sure , it runs along the frame on the drivers side from above the oil filter to behind the liscense plate.

As mentioned the block heater plug should be located between the drivers side tow hook and the fog light (if installed). It is usually tie-wrapped back and may take a little finagling to get it out. Take a look at the picture below from Fordparts.com. It shows the heater and the routing down the drivers side frame rail.
Here is a picture of my truck and where it is located.
