There’s a little notch on the 2000 f250 v10 flex plate. What is this notch referencing to align with?

Maybe something from the manufacturing process. I don't really know but you could see the shadow on it on the crank and put it back where it was?
Maybe it only goes one way.
I'll bet thats what it is and during manufacture its easier for the techs to locate..

 

Well it came off old seized engine and am putting it onto the new one. Trying to figure out how to position it/ if position even matters.

 

See if it only goes on one way..

 

I think you will find it will only go on one way. You will have to spin the flywheel until all bolt holes align up.

 

ok yes blonde mistake for sure. Took a bit to sink in derp. Yes the holes won’t exactly line up until it’s at the exact right spot. 🥳🤦‍♀️ Thank you, teachers!!
