Oh boy, what I did today! I may be in trouble.

So I started to scrap the Dodge dually carcass that my niece's ex left in her yard. Here's what I was working with.....

I also had no title, so I had to cut it up into little pieces. As I was getting started, a guy stops in and we get to talking. He wants to buy the truck as is, with no title. Umm, ok. Then we talk some more. His son has a truck for sale and he told his dad to sell it to pay back the money he owes him. So ...I go over to look at it. Here's what I found......

So ummmm, Yeah. Instead of cutting up a truck and making a little money, I now owe my niece $400. (the money from scrapping/parting the truck out) We traded straight across. You can see why I couldn't say no. By the way, it has a clear title.

I've been looking for a good enough deal to build a monster truck. Here one came up and smacked me in the face. I should mention that Earthquake I was a black '78 Ford Ranger with red interior. .......almost identical to this truck. Same running gear and all.

This truck will be the third and last Earthquake truck. As soon as my Chevelle is done, work will begin on the chassis for Earthquake III.

I assume the cummins was gone?

If that Dodge is a 4wd the front and rear axles are worth $1500.

WAS a Cummins, ...past tense. That's why her ex bought it to begin with. The trans was blown, it was only 2wd, the dash was hacked up, every piece of sheet metal was dented, etc, etc, etc. The only good thing on the truck was the rear. Her landlord was giving her crap to clean up the yard so I went and got it for her. Scrap weight would have only been around $250-$300.

I promised myself Earthquake III would be a monster truck proper. I'm going with 66" ag tires and 5 ton military axles.
