Raining up here today too.

Good morning boys and girls.

Rich? A mailman???

There's just got to be a joke here somewhere...about a pink mail jeep maybe, but I think I'll pass...

Well this afternoon and evening and well into the darkness I was crewing a ol UH-1 "Huey", and talk about a blast, doors open with NVG's on zipping across the country side.

BTW no mail run today, lol.

Don't mess with a mailman that's armed...

I am so stinking tired of looking for tires. How is someone supposed to know a good tire from a bad one? ARRRRGH!

A good tire will have deep tread and no dry rot!

I did much better than I thought I would at the scrap yard. As far as my back not hurting, well, that's all over now. I think I hurt myself loading those transmissions in the back of my truck. The AXOD weighs a metric ton! I may go see Dr. Soma and Dr. Codone (first name Hydro) I don't really want to, so I'll see if I can stand it for another day or so.

I got my niece's 4Runner back here too. I listed on the "list" if someone wants to take a peek. I still have to go get the 318 out of her shed and then I'm done. Anybody need a good running 318 Dodge out of a '96 pick up?

What's with my truck lately?

It seems to have voracious appetite for light bulbs lately. Last week a replaced all four side marker lights. Then yesterday I noticed I had a brake light out. Last night I noticed BOTH instrument cluster lights were burned out. I'm all lit up again, but gee whiz!

The electrical system got advice from the power steering?

Honestly - isn't burning out bulbs left and right a sign of charging system over charging?

Well, they all worked when I got the truck, so I'm chalking it up to really old bulbs that are suddenly getting a lot of use. ......but I'll check the charging system tomorrow just to be sure.

Well Misery (former) neighbors, FINALLY got my Ind. license yesterday !! After about 5 trips, a couple calls back to Misery for paperwork, & a couple more to Indy to get THAT paperwork straightened out. Hey, it only took me a month to get a temporary license. Here they give you a temporary & mail your regular license to you. Don't claim to understand the reasoning behind it. Had to take all the written tests when I applied, no biggie. Passed them, then it was "We need a copy of your LONG FORM from your physical.". That was the 1st call back to Misery. I never had that, the company ALWAYS kept that in their files. Got that faxed up here a couple days later & went back. "We can't read their copy of your D.O.T. card. Do you have yours?" Pulled it out & gave it to them. "Oh, this has a DIFFERENT dr.'s signature than the long form. We can't accept that." 2nd call back to Misery to see IF the company can get in touch with the clinic where the quacks came from & get me a NEW card with the SAME signature. No go, they said "We talked to them. They said they do it all the time. They've never had any problems with that. D.O.T. has never said anything. You need to call Jeff City." Why on earth would I call Jeff City? I'm not in Misery anymore. they can't do anything. Called Indy, oh, the D.O.T. card they faxed came through too dark to read. We'll call them & get it straightened out, then call you back". Never called, this was a Fri. Called AGAIN Mon. Talked to someone again, they said same thing "We'll call them & get it straightened out." This time, hour or two later, I get the call, okay, it's all done." Now I'm broke & had to wait till yesterday to borrow the money from the guy I'm rooming with. Went in, had forgotten my paperwork. Had to get it & go back AGAIN!!! Then the camera didn't like my picture, had to have a supervisor override it (all computerized). Then she starts to give me a regular license. Had to go back & argue with the camera again. FINALLY they give me my CDL. Guess what, the one I had in Misery (& had applied for) was only Class B (all I wanted or needed). My new one is a Class A. I'm NOT saying a word!!!! IF my regular license when I get it is still A, I'm just driving on!!! Enough's enough!!! Sorry for the long winded post , just needed to vent a little.

Wow Pat, for all that I would've just went to the occupational health clinic and paid the $75 to get a new D.O.T. card. I think it would've been easier and faster.

Good deal on the Class A though. Welcome to the club of big truck drivers!

Come to think of it, my medical card is probably expired. I should go get a new one. .....I'll wait until my back feels better though.
