Let me guess. It's not stock. Sounds like a great ride, can't wait for pictures.

So here is some of the story. I have always wanted an old car or truck (old meaning vintage). I had been looking for some time for an old ford truck. Typical sites, ebay and craigslist. I came accross an ad for this 1950 f1 back in september. The asking price was a bit out of my range so I dediced to keep looking. After 1 month notcied the ad was still being ran so I called and made an appoinment to go see it. The owner was a really really nice cool guy. He had bought a 1940 ford car and was just ready to move the old truck. He was really motivated to move it so he gave me a break on the price. Here are the specs on OLD BLUE:

Carbs are beautiful functioning Stromberg 97's I have extra jets for them be
sure to ask me for them. The pistons are Ross pistons, cam is a Schneider,
grind 254F. Duration 254 deg. intake/exhaust, lift .355. A very smooth
street cam with nice "lope" at idle. Stroke is 4 inch and figures out to 276
cubic inchs, heads and manifold are Offenhauser, radiator is a Walker with
electric fan, high torque starter 12V. Headers are "Reds Headers" ceramic
coated. Mufflers are long, about 26inchers and smooth sounding coupled with
square stainless long tips. Rear bumper is a Briz bumper made in washington
by "Briz" it is a hip copy of the old 1940 DeSoto bumpers which were all the
rage for hotrods in the 40's/50's so you get a dose of nostaglia thrown it.
Transmission is a Ford C4, with "built" firm shifting. Smooth on easy
takeoffs but very firm on hard acceleration.Torque converter is new style
"Flat-O-Matic" installed about 4 mos ago. Shifter is a "Lockar" unit with
push button lock on top of ****. Front springs are "Posie super slide" Rears
orig ford with 1/2 half of leaves removed. All bushings/pins are new. Brakes
hydraulic and in near new condition. Have replaced all linings and M/c is
new.Schocks all new with rear being air shocks if you need to carry a
load.Steering box was rebuilt to ford specs by me with new worm and sector
gears and all new bushings. I have replaced both rear axle seals and
bearings. Differential is out of a Torino and is a 3.0 ratio, it has had
very few miles on it and gears are beautiful. It is a "9 inch". with a
custom sway bar. Drive line was made by "ADCO" drivelines and balanced with
all new crosses.

Pics to come soon.

Congratulations! Waiting on pictures. I'm assuming that description came from the ad? If so, considering he went through the effort of describing the details so thoroughly, I'd say you've got a pretty solid hot rod there.

Drum role please!!!!!!

This truck needs nothing but TLD... tender love and DRIVING!!!!!!!! I'm surprised that Victor didn't get arrested, because he STOLE that truck for the price he bought it.

Can't wait to see it, hear it and be taken for a ride in it this weekend.

WOW!!! That is very NICE! I love it. Don't change a thing. We need a video with sound definitely! One question--what is that round black circle on the side of the bed in front of the right rear fender?

We'll find out what that thing is after I get a chance to look at it this weekend. I'll also get a video of it with Victor's permission.

And to think I was having second thoughts on building the flathead in mine due to naysayers downgrading the reliability.

You just drove this one 3 hours so I am now reinvigorated and not looking back. The flatty will stay in my '53!! Woot!!

Congrats again Vegas! She's beautiful!!

And please post of video of it idling....I really want to hear how the cam sounds since I need ideas!
