I`ve been sick and tired of my workbench for many years but just didn`t have the $$$ to do something about it, been scrounging up some used material for about a year and here`s the build, i`ve incorporated receiver hitch pockets at all 4 leg corners and 4 on the sides, with a small garage this allows me to interchange my vice, grinder and other tools and when there not needed i just cap off the top allowing a full benchtop, the lh side will also have a moveable welding table which is in the works right now.

WOW!! is all I can say! That is excellent. Great idea on the receivers, too. I'd hate to need to move it!!
In the fab shots, I see what appears to be lathes and such, is that your home shop?? How about a tour!
wish it was my shop! actually built the bench at my work, i work for a farm equip dealership and we have a small machine shop at one end
-pipes are from a combine pick up, they were the shaft tubes under the belts, darn heavy! had to use a tractor and loader to bring her home!
-yeh the good old junk collector surface! bench was in the garage for 2 minutes and it was already cluttered up!
-thanks for the comments!!
Great bench. Question, why the wood under the top?
Not sure if it's the same reasoning but I did it with mine because the wood absorbs some of the vibration from the steel top so it's not as loud or annoying when hammering on things.
