EZ Wiring harness

I was real disappointed in my EZ harness. It let me down and I had to trailer my truck back to the shop. The main buss bar supplies power to the ignition switch on the second wire on the right that looks burnt. The first wire on the right is the battery power to the fuse panel. I lost power to the switch and that was the end of my trip. I was lucky enough to coast into Tractor Supply and ended in a parking spot away from everybody. I took those wires out and ran them through a circuit breaker and cut a jumper that supplies another buss bar and ran those wires through the same circuit breaker. Ever thing is working again and I hope that solves my problem permanently.

Thats a bummer

I've been running my EZ Wiring harness for a couple of years now without any issues. Hope you got it handled and it doesn't leave you stranded anymore

Sucks about the wiring harness, but she looked good sitting there! No doubt about that!

Mine has been in for four years. I think that connector was not crimped good and it finally gave out.

Thats good info.
I'll have to keep an eye on it. A bad crimp could cause it to build up heat like that. Do you have a big accessory load?

Now I'm going to be nervous....LOL
thanks for the heads up

The only thing I think that could possibly be a big load is the a/c. I am running the cooling fan as well as the a/c through the fuse circuit. I am going to put an amp meter on it and see how much I am drawing. I will let you know when I am able to get some results.

I'd look at mine but I designed the setup to push all big load items onto their own dedicated circuits.. to avoid potential of this problem. The only real draw is the power windows, and the interior fan (heat & a/c).

headlights, radiator fans, fuel pump, airbag pump all run on relay controlled dedicated circuits directly from the battery.

Th AC could be a pretty good load. If you get a chance see what kind of load you have on that one circuit that got hot.

Good luck

I'm surprised you had a problem with the fuse block like that. EZWire uses OEM GM blocks. I suspect something connected to that buss was drawing too much power. Some high draw accessories should be used with a relay such as headlights, horn, etc, or something shorted. Also make sure you aren't operating all the high draw items off one buss. Are any of those fuses a high amp? Is there a main fuse?
